The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to round into form this year, while the Washington Nationals continue plugging along in their rebuild.
Surprisingly, both teams have the same number of losses despite being billed very differently before the season. With a key matchup coming early in the season, here’s the series preview.

Dodgers vs. Nationals Preview
Dodgers, Nationals Records
The Dodgers, despite their talented roster, enter this series with a 13-11 record. That’s far from what was expected of them, but it’s hardly bad.
The Nationals come in also with 11 losses, but they have 10 wins to go along with them. It’s surprising for these teams to both have 11 losses, but the Dodgers haven’t gotten hot yet.
Dodgers vs. Nationals Pitching Matchups
The Los Angeles Dodgers will send James Paxton, who has a 2.81 ERA, to the mound in Game 1. He will be opposed by the struggling Patrick Corbin and his 0-3 record with an 8.06 ERA.
Landon Knack will go Game 2 for LA, and the Nats will counter with Jake Irvin. Game 3 will be see Japanese superstar Yoshinobu Yamamoto take on MacKenzie Gore. Tyler Glasnow pitched in the last series and isn’t available for the next few games.
Predictions for Dodgers, Nationals
The Los Angeles Dodgers are baseball’s most star-studded roster, so they’re eventually going to have to play like it. The Washington Nationals are still rebuilding. While their early start is encouraging, the two teams aren’t really on the same level.
Nevertheless, sweeps are difficult to come by, and the Dodgers have not played up to their billing yet. Therefore, they will likely only win two of three games in this series. Given that the two teams are also playing in Washington, it’s hard to envision the Dodgers sweeping this one.
Dodgers Nationals TV Channels
The Washington Nationals play on MASN, and that network will have the games for residents in the viewing market. The Dodgers play on Spectrum Sportsnet LA, and that’s where all three will be held for LA watchers. Out of market fans can catch the finale on MLB Network, though.
