Mutula Kilonzo Jr, The Governor of Makueni County in company of his deputy, Lucy Mulili, Masongaleni Ward MCA, Brian Nzoka and a host of other county officials and elected leaders yesterday toured the vast Masongaleni Ward for a development tour. The governor alongside launching new projects, commissioned complete projects while also inspecting the progress of the ongoing projects.
The governor who was met with jubilation by the residents emphasized on his undying commitment in ensuring that the people of Makueni get quality healthcare services, have access to clean water and receive quality education.
On his first stop at Ngwata, the governor inspected the newly constructed Ngwata Health Centre Maternity Wing which is expected to greatly improve provision of maternal and neonatal services to the residents.

In Kativani village, the governor commissioned a KIBMAWASCO pipeline extension. This extension is poised to benefit over 1800 residents. While commissioning the extension, the governor cautioned against vandalizing water infrastructure and mismanagement of the water company.

At Yikitaa village, the governor launched the desilting of Uyi earth dam. This dam upon completion is set to serve over 20 neighbouring villages. Uyi dam is part of the governor’s promise to construct a mega dam in every sub-county. Already constructed, desilted and expanded dams include the colonial Ndukuma mega dam, West Ngosini dam and Kyamakuthi dam in Kalawa ward.



The governor also unveiled a newly constructed modern ECDE centre at Yikitaa. The new centre, equiped with modern learning facilities, furniture and child friendly playing facilities. This is in line with the Governor’s manifesto on provision of quality education.

At Ulilinzi market, the governor commissioned a modern stock yard before addressing a mammoth of jubilant residents who had braved the scotching sun to see their Governor.The stock yard is expected to provide a better environment for livestock traders and vendors.

The residents here were also treated to a free medical clinic and land clinic. This included free medical check up, free doctor’s consultation and free treatment. Those with land title deeds and succession issues were assisted in the Land clinic on site.
The governor appreciated the residents for their unwavering support for his government programmes and projects. He also lauded the area MCA Brian Nzoka for choosing to align himself with Wiper Party, despite winning the seat on an independent ticket while asking the residents to continue supporting the MCA.
