As the MLB season continues to move along, a number of teams have received important injury updates regarding some of their players. It’s been an eventful season in terms of superstar players going down, particularly pitchers, who have suffered serious injuries.
This week, several different clubs have received injury updates regarding some of their stars. Some of these players could find themselves back in the lineup sooner rather than later, while others are expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time.

J.T. Realmuto
The Philadelphia Phillies will be without their All-Star catcher J.T. Realmuto for the foreseeable future. The team received a disappointing injury update regarding his knee. Realmuto has been placed on the IL and will be forced to undergo right knee meniscectomy surgery, There is no timeline yet for his return to the lineup.

Alek Manoah
Just as it looked like Alek Manoah was on his way back to sticking in the Toronto Blue Jays pitching rotation, the young start suffered a brutal elbow injury. It was announced that Manoah would undergo season-ending elbow surgery, however, Manoah has opted for a hybrid internal brace procedure as opposed to Tommy John Surgery.
Jorge Polanco
The Seattle Mariners received a positive injury update regarding the health of veteran infielder Jorge Polanco. The former All-Star took part in batting practice on Monday, suggesting that a rehab assignment could be right around the corner.
Elias Diaz
Colorado Rockies’ Elias Diaz may have avoided a potentially serious injury, however, he is still slated to miss a couple of games. Diaz suffered a strained left calf. According to manager Bud Black, Diaz has been “feeling it for a couple weeks,” and will now be out of the lineup until he is ready to go again.

Francisco Alvarez
It’s been a difficult season for the New York Mets, however, they will now get one of their power hitters back from injury. The team has activated Francisco Alvarez from the IL after being out of the lineup since April 19 with a fractured thumb. The positive injury update is something that will hopefully help the Mets get back on track.
