Booker T recently stated that former RAW star Ricochet will be successful wherever he goes, including AEW. The latter is currently a free agent, as his contract recently expired.
During his time in the Stamford-based promotion, the 35-year-old wrestler held the Intercontinental and United States Championship. He won the North American Title during his run on NXT and was the inaugural WWE Speed Champion. His contract with the global wrestling juggernaut expired this week, and many people expect him to join All Elite Wrestling.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said that while AEW seems to be the most likely destination for Ricochet, he believes that the latter will be a big hit wherever he works in the wrestling business.
“Ricochet seems to be [heading] towards AEW and the thing is, I can see that or Japan, he’ll definitely be a big hit in Japan or TNA. He’ll be hit wherever he goes. I don’t think Ricochet will have to worry about having a job or anything like that. Will he continue to shine in professional wrestling? I think so just because Ricochet is a hell of a talent,” said Booker. [H/T Wrestling INC.]
Booker T says Ricochet will be looking for a 5-star match if he goes to AEW
AEW wrestler Will Ospreay has expressed interest in seeing his former rival Ricochet make the jump to AEW. The two stars wrestled each other in Japan.
Booker T also said during the interview that Ricochet will thrive in AEW because he’ll be looking for 5-star matches.
“I think Ricochet is one of those guys who’d fit into somewhere like AEW. When he goes into the ring, he is gonna be looking for a five-star match … I just think that’s his mentality, to go out and perform, and perform at that highest level that he possibly can and go out there and create some magic in the middle of the ring,” Booker T said.
Since The One and Only is a free agent, he can sign with any company he wants. It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up next.
