Jay Slater’s documents found with body in Tenerife search
Documents belonging to Jay Slater have been discovered on the body found in Tenerife during the search for the 19-year-old, with suggestions the cause of death was an “accidental fall”, officials say.
The Canary Islands High Court of Justice said it was likely it would not be until next week until there was a full and official identification of the body and a probable cause of death.
In a statement, it added: “It is confirmed that the documentation that was on the body found yesterday in the mountains of Masca belongs to Jay Slater and everything suggests that it was an accidental fall.”
The teenager, from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, was last seen on 17 June, after visiting an Airbnb rented by two people he had been with at the NRG music festival on the island.
