Search teams find body of missing teenage canoeist

Search teams have found the body of a teenage canoeist who went missing on the water, police said.
Norfolk Police said an18-year-old’s body was found in the water following searches of the Middle Level Main Drain in Wiggenhall St Germans, near King’s Lynn.
The man was reported missing at 15:39 BST on Sunday after his inflatable kayak was seen capsizing by a member of the public, who called police.
The force said formal identification is yet to take place, but the teenager’s family had been informed and were receiving support.

The teenager’s death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file will be passed to the coroner, police said.
Emergency services, including a dive team with sonar capabilities, specialist dogs, Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service and Lowland Search and Rescue were involved in the search.
A cordon put in place while the operation was under way has now been lifted.
