Murder arrest after body of woman found in east Belfast

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery of a woman’s body in east Belfast on Friday night.
The woman has been named as 43-year-old Rachel Simpson.
In a short statement, the PSNI said they responded to a concern for safety at a house in the Castlereagh Road area shortly after 22:30 BST on Friday.
Ms Simpson’s body was discovered in a garage beside the property.
The man remains in custody at this time.
Officers and forensics remain at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, particlarly between 17:00 – 22:30 BST to contact them.
