Fears grow for man who failed to complete Highland trek
Police are becoming increasingly concerned for a hillwalker who failed to complete a planned trek over three days in the Highlands.
Paul Conway, 67, travelled from Newcastle to Glenfinnan by train on Tuesday.
He last spoke to his family on arrival at about 18:40.
Mr Conway had planned to walk from Glenfinnan to Inverie in Knoydart – a distance of around 30 miles – but failed to arrive as expected on Friday afternoon.
He is around 5ft 10in, of stocky build with shaven grey hair.
Mr Conway is believed to be wearing a green Paracore waterproof jacket with a hood, camouflage green shorts and walking boots.
Officers said he was carrying a dark bergen-style bag and was in possession of two walking poles.
Sgt Katy Duncan said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Paul’s welfare, and efforts are ongoing to trace him.
“If you think you’ve seen him or have any information on his whereabouts, please get in touch with us.”
