India D pacer Vidwath Kaverappa produced a stunning delivery to dismiss India A captain Mayank Agarwal on Day 1 of their 2024 Duleep Trophy match on Thursday, September 12. The game is being played at Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur.
The dismissal occurred on the second ball of the sixth over. Kaverappa bowled a length delivery that angled towards the off-stump, tempting Agarwal. The right-handed batter could only manage an outside edge, as wicketkeeper Sanju Samson completed an easy catch. Mayank scored seven runs off 14 balls, including one boundary.

India D captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. Vidwath Kaverappa struck early for his team by dismissing Mayank Agarwal for seven off 14 balls. The right-arm pacer then claimed his second wicket by removing Pratham Singh, who managed seven runs off 33 balls.
Riyan Parag, batting at No. 4, made an impact with his aggressive play, hitting 37 off 29 balls with the help of five boundaries and one six before being dismissed by Arshdeep Singh. Tilak Varma had a tough time, managing only 10 runs off 33 balls before spinner Saransh Jain got rid of him.
At the time of writing, India A was 76/4 after 21 overs, with Shashwat Rawat (1) and Kumar Kushagra (6) at the crease.
