Ariana Grande apologises to âMistress of the Darkâ Elvira
Ariana Grande has apologised to the actress who plays horror icon Elvira after she accused the singer of ignoring her during a meet-and-greet.
Actress Cassandra Peterson, whoâs best known for her Mistress of the Dark alter-ego, said Ariana Grande had requested tickets for herself and family members to one of her stage shows.
She told a panel that sheâd posed for photos and signed autographs for âall her friends and relativesâ but that Ariana had refused to pose for a picture in return and left before the performance.
Responding via Instagram, Ariana Grande said she was âdisheartenedâ to see the comments and claimed sheâd left the event early because she âhad an anxiety attackâ.
In her response on Cassandra Petersonâs post, Ariana said she didnât âeven rememberâ getting the chance to meet the star.
She said the event would have happened about seven years ago, after her concert in Manchester was targeted in a terror attack.
At the time, Ariana said, she âwas really not great with being in public crowds or loud placesâ.
âBut if Iâm misremembering this moment, I sincerely apologise for offending you so.
âThank you for being so nice to my mum, she told me how lovely you were (she might have different feelings about that now but Iâll talk to her⊠clearly, we all have our days!).â
She signed off âsending love alwaysâ, adding âyouâll always be our queen of Halloweenâ.
The video of Cassandra Peterson, whoâs also appeared as a guest judge on RuPaulâs Drag Race, discussing the interaction, recently went viral.
Sheâs heard laughing when someone else on-stage says Arian is âplaying the wrong witchâ â referencing her role as Good Witch Glinda in the upcoming film adaption of Wicked.
Fan edits of the movieâs poster made using AI have made headlines during a recent promotional tour.
One fan edit turned the image of Ariana and co-star Cynthia Erivo in-character into an animation of the two fighting.
And Photoshopped versions of the image, with Cynthiaâs eyes removed, have also been criticised by the stars.
âNone of this is funny,â Cynthia said. âNone of it is cute. It degrades me. It degrades us.â
Ariana agreed fan edits can go âtoo farâ , that she had âso much respectâ for Cynthia and found the issue âvery complicatedâ.
