Jordan Chiles had a fantastic 2024, including winning gold at the Paris Olympics. Now, the gymnast has been named in Ebony Magazine’s Power 100, and she took the time to reflect on what the milestone means for her.
Chiles’s season began at the U.S. Core Hydration Classic, where she put on an impressive display to claim bronze in the all-around and uneven bars. From there, she went on to compete at the US National Championships, where she earned a silver on the bars. She then impressed at the Olympic Team Trials and successfully booked a berth at her second Games.
The 23-year-old helped the US reclaim the team event gold at the Paris Olympics. Individually, she qualified for the floor exercise finals, where she won bronze, a medal that was the source of intense controversy. She has since been stripped of her third-place finish but has filed an appeal with the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland.
Now, Jordan Chiles has been named in Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 list, and she penned a heartfelt note expressing her gratitude. Taking to Instagram, she wrote,
“I am so happy to be honored this year by Ebony Magazine as a Power 100 honoree in the category of Leaders In Sports. Being recognized alongside such incredible individuals from our own community is truly humbling, and I’m grateful for this platform that is not only of the culture, but for the culture! Thank you, EBONY, for celebrating how WE show up and for truly moving Black forward. #EBONYPOWER100.”
