Chelsea star Cole Palmer has revealed in an interview with GQ (via SportBible) what he did with the medals he won during Manchester City’s treble-winning 2022-23 season. The England player was a bit-part member of Pep Guardiola’s side that season and left the club in September 2023 to come to London.
The Manchester-born player spent three seasons with City and made a total of 41 appearances for them across all competitions. He even found the back of the net on six occasions.
Sharing what he did to the trophies that he won with City, Palmer said:
“I give them to my mum, I wanted to restock. Clear them out so I can stock up again,” said Palmer.
After moving to Chelsea, however, Palmer has become a much-improved player and thrives in his role as a central attacking midfielder. The Manchester City academy graduate has grown into a sensation for both Chelsea and England this season. He has already scored seven goals and bagged five assists in the 11 matches he has played for Enzo Maresca’s team in the Premier League this campaign.
Cole Palmer won seven titles with Manchester City and none yet with Chelsea
Palmer won a total of seven major titles with Manchester City, including the Premier League on three occasions. He also won the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup once, to go with the FA Cup and EFL Cup. A non-major tournament he won with City was the J.League World Challenge in 2023.
Unfortunately, Palmer has not won a single title with Chelsea yet despite reaching the semifinal of the FA Cup and the final of the EFL Cup last season. Nonetheless, the youngster promises a lot, and it will not be long before he is back among the medals with his new club, this time in a leading role.
Manchester City trail Liverpool in the second position of the Premier League table at the moment with 23 points to their name. Chelsea are perched just one spot below them in the same standings with 19 points inside their kitty. Leaders Liverpool are clear by five points at the top and have 28 in their bag.
