How to pre-load GTA Online’s new DLC before the official update?

GTA Online’s new DLC, Agents of Sabotage, is just around the corner, and some users can already pre-load it. Rockstar Games made the patch pre-downloadable on the PS4 and PS5, allowing players to be prepared before the DLC officially releases on December 10, 2024. This is the same process they always follow, but just a bit earlier this time.

The new DLC will be downloaded automatically if the auto-update feature is enabled on your PS4 or PS5. Just keep in mind that the console must be connected to the internet. However, in a rare case where the update doesn’t automatically start downloading, you might need to do it manually.

This article shares a quick way to pre-load GTA Online’s new DLC manually on PlayStation 4 and 5. Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC users will be able to download the patch once it is officially released tomorrow.

GTA Online’s new DLC update: Ste-by-step guide to pre-load it manually (PS4 and PS5)

To pre-load GTA Online’s new DLC, Agents of Sabotage, here’s what you need to do on your PS4 or PS5:

  • Step 1: Navigate to the Grand Theft Auto V icon on your PS4/PS5’s main menu
  • Step 2: Click the Options button on your controller (DualShock 4/DualSense)
  • Step 3: Click on “Check for Update” from the available options

If done correctly, the system will search for available patches and start downloading them. When it comes to the size of the pre-load file, it’s about 6 GB on PlayStation 5 and 2 GB on PlayStation 4. Moreover, as soon as the update starts downloading, you will get a notification on your system and can use it to check the progress.

  • Go to Downloads on PS4
  • Go to Downloads/Uploads on PS5

Please note that even after downloading the pre-load file of GTA Online’s new DLC, you will only be able to access the new content once the update goes live officially on December 10, 2024, at 2 am PT.

When it comes to new content, the upcoming update is going to introduce a new purchasable property, Darnell Bros Garment Factory, along with a new business, new vehicles like Bravado Banshee GTS, and more.

Although not officially announced at the moment, a brand new El Strickler Military Rifle is also expected to be available, but only for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players.

It is advised to check the expected release time of GTA Online’s new DLC to know exactly when you will be able to access the new content.
