One killed and four seriously injured in M65 crash
One person has been killed and four seriously injured in a motorway crash involving three vehicles.
Emergency services were called to reports of a serious collision on the M65 near Burnley at about 03:40 BST.
Lancashire Police expect both carriageways to remain closed for some time between junctions 8 for Hapton and 10 for Burnley.
Motorists have been advised by National Highways to follow diversions.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with their loved ones at this incredibly distressing time, and they are being supported by officers.”
