Runner dies after Cardiff Half Marathon

A runner died after the Cardiff Half Marathon, organisers have said.
The runner was immediately attended to by the medical emergency team at the finish line before being taken to the city’s University Hospital of Wales, where they later died.
A spokesman for Run 4 Wales, the organisers of the event said: “This is a terrible tragedy and our deepest sympathies go out to the runner’s family.”
Organisers described this year’s race as the “biggest ever year” with 29,000 people signing up to take part.
